Last weekend saw the 13th annual rendition of one of our favorite events, The One Motorcycle Show, held as always in the mossy environs of Portland, OR. Hosted by Thor Drake and the cycle savants at See See Motorcycles, the moto hoedown has become one of the better displays of custom builds in the States, right up there with Mama Tried and The Handbuilt Show, showcasing a diverse variety of bikes and builders, while adding layers of moto-inspired art and music to the two-wheel mix as well.
You couldn’t miss this eye-popping 1952 Crosley Marusho salt flat racer from Morto near the entrance.
Repeating as host venue was the cavernous Zidell Barge Building, a massive open-air structure looming over the river just south of downtown. The almost century-old shipyard oozes old grease and rusty metal, creating a nicely textured backdrop for out-of-this world builds, a lineup of local and national bands, the 21 Helmets art show, stunt displays and dozens of vendors.
With Indian Motorcycle back for a fourth year as the main sponsor and a format much the same as last year, the three day circus drew enthusiasts from all over the country. Here’s a sampling of just some of the 250 bikes on display. RC

If you live within riding distance of Portland Oregon, you owe it to yourself to jump on the bike this weekend and head to the historic Zidell Barge Building on the Southwest Waterfront for the 13th annualThe One Motorcycle Show.
Since 2009, The One Moto has been perhaps the best custom bike show in the US, attracting tens of thousands of bikes and riders to Portland each year. From Friday through Sunday April 29-May 1, the Zidell and its 122,000 sq ft of outdoor space will be filled with thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts enjoying racing, live bands, plenty of craft beer, gallons of See See coffee, and 250+ custom bikes on display.
A massive and rustic open-air building built in 1930 and used to build ships, the Zidell and its grounds should provide a killer industrial backdrop for all the car shows, food trucks, welding demos, art exhibits, tattoo pop-ups, and more. If you’re a rider in the PNW, you don’t want to miss this. Buy your tickets today.
To control crowds and encourage social distancing, tickets to The One will be sold in increments of four-hour blocks. There are ten four-hour blocks available over the course of the weekend. If you want to attend for longer than four hours, you’ll need to purchase tickets for more than one block. A VIP pass that allows access at any time all weekend is available for $100. Kids under 12 are free and leashed dogs are welcome.
Hosted by the family behind See See Motor Coffee Co., the One Moto Show is perhaps the world’s largest and best-known custom motorcycle show, right up there with Mama Tried in Milwaukee and The Handbuilt Motorcycle Show down in Austin. If you’ve never been to The One, make 2022 the year the one you go to.

Builders rejoice! One of the highlights of the annual International Motorcycle Shows circuit, the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show (UBCBS), is back and better than ever in 2022. The rebranded and relaunched Progressive IMS Outdoors announced the UBCBS is back for 2022, with a new title sponsor in Dennis Kirk and a new manager in motorcycle industry veteran Jordan Mastagni.
UCBCS competitors will be on display at all eight iterations of Progressive IMS Outdoors. Classes for the 2022 contest include Custom Street, Custom Classic, and Freestyle, plus the popular People’s Choice Award. Winners of the Custom Street, Custom Classic, and Freestyle classes will take home $500-$1,000 in cash, plus prizes from sponsors. Winners of each round are invited to compete in the Championship Round at the end of the tour in Southern California November 4-6 for the coveted title of “King of Builders”—plus $10,000 in cash and prizes.
Custom builders who wish to compete are invited to register today for any of the eight IMS Outdoorsevents:

Dennis Kirk, the world’s largest retailer of aftermarket parts, apparel, and accessories for every powersport, is the new title sponsor of UBCBS. Mastagni brings 20-plus years of v-twin media experience to the contest.
“UBCBS is one of the most well-known and widely respected competitions in the builder community and we are excited to be on board as the title sponsor for the 2022 edition,” said Tammy Becklin of Dennis Kirk.
“I’ve worked closely with the custom motorcycle community throughout my career and have so much respect for the time and creativity it takes to produce a custom build,” Hot Bike magazine president Mastagni said. “I look forward to seeing what this year’s group brings to the competition.” Mastagni takes over the contest from respected industry vet Bob Kay.
Builder registration for the 2022 competition is open now. New and returning builders alike are encouraged to sign up at www.motorcycleshows.com/UBCBS.
