Motorcycle News: Bike Shed Moto Co LA Makes Its Hollywood Premiere At Last

London’s iconic Bike Shed Moto Co finally opens in Los Angeles this weekend, after a two-year pandemic delay. The celebrated motorcycle destination, brand, and community debuts its first US location, with a massive restaurant/bar/retail emporium/lounge/club located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District. Doors open this Friday, April 8.

After two years of waiting, co-founders Dutch and Vikki van Someren have created a motorcycle-centric cultural hub that more than lives up to its reputation. The warehouse space, originally constructed in 1945, is in an appropriately gritty area of downtown LA. The venue itself, however, is brand new—and jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

Set in a 30,000 square-foot warehouse, the new Bike Shed Moto Co LA will complement London’s celebrated flagship location with a full-service restaurant, café, bar, and lounge alongside a curated retail emporium, multiple event venues, art galleries, private dining, private members’ bar, tattoo parlor, barbershop—and on-site parking for over 100 motorcycles.

If you’re a motorcyclist in the Southern California area, you’ve got to check out Bike Shed. Tell them Rides & Culture sent ya!

The 325-seat restaurant Common Ground is headed up by Chef Enrico Glaudo, offering everything from brunch and salads to burgers, craft beer, coffee, and cocktails. Motorcycle Mecca is a shop-in-shop retail space that features not only Bike Shed gear and apparel but houses eight distinct curated shopping experiences by globally recognized moto-friendly brands, for everything from motorcycle gear to streetwear, gifts, and merchandise.

At Parts & Labour, a new iteration of Bike Shed’s original London barbershop, sip a free coffee or cocktail and get to know your fellow riders while getting a fresh cut. Parts & Labour specializes in new styles, traditional cuts, beard grooming, or even just a trim. Women are more than welcome! Best of all, BSMC members get 10 percent off.

Finally, Bike Shed introduces Paintshop Tattoo, where you can get killer ink from some of the best tattoo artists in Southern California.

When it comes to Events, Bike Shop has a full slate planned for its LA outpost. What started as “The Captain’s Table” in London has evolved into regular Hosted Dinners, where past guests have shared a table with legends like Fast Freddie Spencer, Charley Boorman, Giacomo Agostini, Jamie Whitham, and others. These dinners will be a regular occurrence at Bike Shed Moto Co LA. BSMC members get first dibs on seats, but there’s usually room for more.

All you need is the willingness to get muddy. Starting with brekkie at the Shed, you’ll be back at the Shed in time for a beer. Knobby(-ish) tires are a must.
