Crowd favorite custom show returns to IMS Outdoors
Builders rejoice! One of the highlights of the annual International Motorcycle Shows circuit, the Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show (UBCBS), is back and better than ever in 2022. The rebranded and relaunched Progressive IMS Outdoors announced the UBCBS is back for 2022, with a new title sponsor in Dennis Kirk and a new manager in motorcycle industry veteran Jordan Mastagni.
UCBCS competitors will be on display at all eight iterations of Progressive IMS Outdoors. Classes for the 2022 contest include Custom Street, Custom Classic, and Freestyle, plus the popular People’s Choice Award. Winners of the Custom Street, Custom Classic, and Freestyle classes will take home $500-$1,000 in cash, plus prizes from sponsors. Winners of each round are invited to compete in the Championship Round at the end of the tour in Southern California November 4-6 for the coveted title of “King of Builders”—plus $10,000 in cash and prizes.
Custom builders who wish to compete are invited to register today for any of the eight IMS Outdoors events:
Colorado | June 17 – 19
Chicago | June 24 – 26
Pennsylvania | Sept. 16 – 18
New York | Sept. 23 – 25
Atlanta | Sept. 30 – Oct. 2
Northern California | Oct. 21 – 23
Arizona | Oct. 28 – 30
Southern California | Nov. 4 – 6
Dennis Kirk, the world’s largest retailer of aftermarket parts, apparel, and accessories for every powersport, is the new title sponsor of UBCBS. Mastagni brings 20-plus years of v-twin media experience to the contest.
“UBCBS is one of the most well-known and widely respected competitions in the builder community and we are excited to be on board as the title sponsor for the 2022 edition,” said Tammy Becklin of Dennis Kirk.
“I’ve worked closely with the custom motorcycle community throughout my career and have so much respect for the time and creativity it takes to produce a custom build,” Hot Bike magazine president Mastagni said. “I look forward to seeing what this year’s group brings to the competition.” Mastagni takes over the contest from respected industry vet Bob Kay.
Builder registration for the 2022 competition is open now. New and returning builders alike are encouraged to sign up at www.motorcycleshows.com/UBCBS.
